Activities to enjoy in Costa Blanca

The activities we suggest outside the resort include:

Bike rides

There are three local bike rides we recommend:

• Benidorm beach tour
• Sierra villages tour (Polop, La Nucia, Callosa d’ Ensarría)
• Keeping fit tour (Finestrat)

They are all easy, even for children, and none takes more than 3 or 4 hours.

We advise you to always take plenty of water, wear sun cream, sun glasses, a hat as well as comfortable clothes and shoes.

Hikes in the Sierra Helada

Punta de la Escaleta
Access by car, bike and on foot from Benidorm. Grade: easy. Duration: 2 - 2.50 hours. Distance: there and back – 5,200 metres plus 700 metres from Cala Ti Ximo. Maximum climb: 75 metres. Points of interest: view points, coves, Iberian ruins, ochre mine and ancient tower.   

La Cruz
Access by car, bike and on foot. Grade: easy. Duration: 3 hours. Distance: there and back - 5 km. Maximum climb: 237metres.

Travesía Sierra Helada
Access on foot. Grade: easy-moderate. Duration: 3.50 – 4 hours. Distance: 8 km approximately, there only. Maximum climb: 438 metres.

El Faro del Albir
Access by bike and on foot. Grade: easy. Duration: 1.50 – 2 hours. Distance: 2.5 km. Maximum climb: 112 metres.

Finestrat, a millennium hike
Access by car, bike and on foot from Finestrat. Grade: moderate.
Duration: 4.50 – 5 hours. Points of interest: view points and springs.

El Repetidor
Access bike and on foot. Grade: easy-moderate. Duration: 2 hours. Distance: 8 km approximately. Maximum climb: 438 metres.

Karting Finestrat
Open every day from 10:00 to 20:00.
Circuit: 1,248 m. Rental time: 10 minutes.

Theme parks

Terra Mítica
Open every day in summer from 10:00 to 18:00 on weekdays and from 10:00 to 20:00 on weekends. The park has more than 30 rides and 80 daily shows. There are 5 regions: ROME, EGYPT, GREECE, THE ISLANDS AND IBERIA. Each region has its own rides, shows and entertainment.
The park provides care for pets and has a lost children service. There are 21 restaurants, parking and souvenir shops. You cannot take your own food into the park. Ideal for families with children of all ages.
The Terra Mítica is located near the hotel, just a 10 minute walk away.

Terra Natura
Open every day from 10:00 to 18:00 and from 10:00 to 20:00 on weekends. It is a flora and fauna park from the five continents with more than 1,500 animals in their natural habitat. Rides, shows, chats, aquarium and a water park. The park has 5 areas: ASIA, AMERICA, EUROPE AND PANGEA. You need around 6 hours to see the whole park. There are restaurants, bars and picnic areas. There is also a large car park at the park entrance. We highly recommend the poisonous animal section.

The park is ideal for all ages and is located 15 minutes from the hotel.

Mundomar
Open every day from 10:00 to 19:00. Marine and exotic animals park. It takes about 4 hours to see Mundomar and its animals. Have you photo taken with the animals and give them food. Don’t forget to visit the dolphinarium and the aviary.
Programmed shows: parrots: 11:00, 14:30 and 15:30. Dolphins: 13:30 and  17:30. Sea lions: 12:15 and 16:30.
The park has a self-service restaurant, snack bars and picnic areas. Ideal for families and people of all ages.

Aqualandia
Open every day from 10:00 in the morning. It is the largest water park in Europe. Loads of rides, pizzerias, snack bars, barbeques, sun beds, inflatable rings, cafeterias and picnic areas.
Ideal for youngsters and families with children over the age of 3.

Oceanográfico (The City of the Arts and the Sciences)
Largest educational complex in Europe. L’ Oceanográfico is the largest marine centre in Europe with 45,000 examples of 500 different species. Dolphinarium, giant aquariums, dolphin and sea lion shows. All the necessary services for a great day out. Shops, parking, restaurants, rest areas and children’s areas.

Hemisfèric: unique building in the shape of the human eye, showing three different audiovisual shows on a gigantic screen.

Umbracle: a look into the future, spectacular garden walk, with views over the entire complex.

Callosa D’En Sarriá and the Algar springs
Located 3 km from the centre of Callosa, in direction of Bolulla, this natural park is dedicated to the conservation of the local ecological riches and provides tourist services and environmental educational services too. A unique theme park about the importance of water as a ecological, economical and cultural resource.
Open every day from 10:00 to 19:00. Entrance fee: 3€

Safaris

El Arca de Noé
A wild animal reserve which takes care of abandoned injured or lost animals. The approximately 200 animals live in an area of 80,000 metres squared. The park is accessible via pathways.
Entrance is free if you book before hand.
Entrance fee: 5€ adults, 3€ children.
Valle de Guadalest – Benimantell.

Río Safari Elche
This special park, declared a world heritage site, houses more than 5,000 palm trees. It provides all kinds of facilities, restaurants, picnic areas, shows, aquarium, aviary and reptiles. Facilities for the disabled.

Safari Aitana (Penáguila)
The park is divided into 2 sections: the safari where you can see the animals in their natural habitat from your car and the dactari area where you can see animals that need special care in their cages. You can walk around this area.
It is open every day from 11:00 to 19:00. Guided tours from 11:00 to 15:00.
Prices: adult, child over 11 years of age: 16€, child from 3 to 11 years of age: 11€ and child from 0 to 3: free.

Safari Park El Vergel
This natural park is home to 1,400 animals of 145 different species. Drive your own car around the park and admire the animals in their natural habitat.
It is open every day of the year from 10:00 to 19:00. Prices: adult: 13.50€, children from 4 to 12 years of age: 8€.
